Staff rate is available on a payment plan. $125 seems a lot, but you get a lot at a WorldCon. And with a year to plan...skip on "Starbucks" a week and that year, you've got the membership paid for.

The day after WorldCon is when class goes into session at Woodbury University. I'm sure there will be tons of things to deal with then.

I will also probably have blown my geek mad money budget at San Diego Comic-Con.

If this had been either earlier or later, maybe I would have been more receptive. I probably would have even been interested in volunteering. I am officially bummed...I've never been to a WorldCon. Ever. How dare I call myself "Ms. Geek!" ;-)

Personally, I think Worldcon is a lot more fun than ComicCon, but mileage varies.
