I've been saying for a while that I'd like to go to Disney before they take PotC down to remodel -- and that has snuck up on me! While StuporBawl Sunday would probably be a good plan, I've got too much backlogged to do it. I'm thinking Presidents' Day, 2/20 (right after Gally). Anyone else up for it? Any tips on cheap tickets?

I'm all over that. I can have my dad get cheap tickets on base (one-day prices are currently $51 for non-park hopper, $64 for park hopper).

OMG why do they have to remodel my favorite ride?
While I liked the movie, remodeling the ride is just dumb.
Too bad I live far away and rarely have time off or extra money :\

Hmm...the SoCal 2fer is only $59 if you buy online, and then you can got to CA Adv. sometime in the next month, which mught be fun...

I'm trying to see if there's a AAA price but the AAA login form is broken...

They're adding the movie characters to the ride, so it will be the ride based on the movie based on the ride.

I'm torn...anything that puts more Johnny in the world is good by me, really...but yeah, why muck with a good thing? Which is why I want to at least go once before they re-do it. I've never been to Disneyland!

Sadly, you still won't get to see the *original* PotC ride. They redid it several years ago to be more "PC". *razzlefrazzle stupid right-wing overly conservative we can't have our kids see depictions of real live history idiots grrrrrrr*

I know, but as I recall, it was a pretty small change, really -- all they did was give the women trays of food, right? (The idea, that the pirates were chasing the food rather than the women, was bigger, of course.)

$51 is less that $59 but not by much, especially if it's not the 2fer ticket. Let me know what you find out...
