OK, just spoke to the warranty company again. The replacement _is_ authorized; the person I spoke to this morning was incorrect. Should be hearing from the plumbers tomorrow. All shall be well...someday.

And hopefully the new one will also have a lid that will stay up on its own. That's why I like the upstairs bathroom. :)

Currently, the new one has the old one's seat. Unfortunately, the new one is the long type, and the old seat/lid doesn't actually fit. I plan to buy a new lid/seat for upstairs and put the seat from up there on the downstairs toilet -- which will, usually, stay up eventually, but takes a few tries. (I need it up for cleaning!)
