home again, home again

Made it home in one piece, with all my luggage, This trip was slightly more interesting (in the ancient curse sense) than the trip out -- first the plane was 40 or 45 minutes late leaving Birmingham. My layover in Dallas was only an hour or so, so you can see what that did to my connection! Happily, my DFW->SAN departure gate was in the same terminal as my BHM->DFW arrival gate, although 20+ gates away, so both I and my bags made the flight. Then, I got a shuttle driver who was still wet behind the ears. She didn't give me the receipt off my return ticket (luckily, I don't need it), and she wasn't very good at following directions -- first she missed the better exit for my house, then missed the first good place to make the u-turn necessitated by the alternate route we took. Oh well. Home now, with a little time to relax before the Darkstar party tonight. I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, on my own pillows tonight.
