Baycon plans

I'm planning to drive up Thursday. I'm interested in some sort of group dinner/gathering that evening, if anyone else is up for that.. Let me know. Cheap is good; even if the offer comes through before then, it's been nearly 4 months on unemployment.

I'll be at Baycon -- I am, in fact, a staff member -- but I'm even broker than thou; no dinner for the Bax. :( I'll see you at the con, though.

Well, my goal here is basically to do something besides hang out in the hotel room all evening -- two of my Thurs/Fri roommates won't be there til after 11PM, and the one who's coming earlier, I've only met once. So anything social would work for me, not necessarily dinner.

I'm actually still trying to arrange transportation to the con ... I don't know yet when I would actually arrive. I can keep you updated as I find out more, if you want. Hopefully I should arrive early, since I'm newsletter staff and we need to have #1 ready for the start of the con.

Though if you're doing newsletter, you're likely to be too insanely busy to socialize anyway. At least, that's been my observation at cons past.

I'm the editdragon (and occasional layout lizard), as opposed to one of the writers. I will be needed late in the evening -- which is when your friends would be arriving anyway. ];=8)

So Thursday afternoon/evening socializing actually works pretty well. I recall arriving early last year and getting so bored and desperate that I helped set up the art show.

Ah. I don't know yet when I'll be arriving, since I'm driving and it depends on when I leave. I'm guessing no later than 8 PM. I'll be putting at-con contact info in a protected post soon (not tonight, though).

Given the nature of the contact info you provided, I won't have much of a way of getting in touch with you (Luddite that I am, I have no cell phone or whatnot). Feel free to track me down if you wish, though. If you go to ConOps on the second floor, you can find out where the newsletter room is, and that'll be my home base.

I will be there all day. My bus arrives in San Jose at 11 AM.
