octopus bookmark
octopus bookmark,
originally uploaded by menolly37.
While I have a couple of larger projects I should be working on, I wanted a quick one, so I made this bookmark, using a pattern I found before Christmas (but didn't have time to do anything with then). The two shells and the large blue bead are from a Pirate Booty BotMo from a couple of years ago; the octopus is from Wild About Beads, IIRC.

Yis! I have a hippo bead I'll use in one of these later, too.

...so you can remember where you left off reading your octopus? (between tentacles, e.g?)

Super cute. I'm still a paper bookmark guy, but I enjoy the craft of more elaborate ones and will sometimes give them as gifts.

I use both paper ones and more solid ones; I don't like the commercial one I received as a gift that's similar to this but with a thinner cord, as it's too easy to accidentally tear pages with it. The body of the cord on this is thick enough that that's not so much an issue.
