Despite showing identical URLs when hovered, the "Remove Friend" link in the pop-up box does NOT take you to the same page as the "Modify Friend" link on a friend's profile.
Not unless a "nolly has defriended you" notification (followed quickly by "nolly has friended you") in the inbox of the person I accidentally dropped counts as something they weren't supposed to see.
