Attack of the Clowns
May. 21st, 2002 11:29 pmSaw it Monday night.
I hated it.
<lj-cut text="Why?" Anakin's mushy monologues made me want to walk out. Awkward young romance can be done well: Peter Parker in Spiderman "When I look into your eyes, I feel abnormal". This reminded me of the lamest poem a boyfriend ever wrote me. Amidala apparently owns no practical clothes whatsoever, except possibly that white one at the end, which almost qualifies. And when you're trying not to start something with a lust-obsessed 19-year-old (who seems immature even for 19), don't run around in a sparkly black corset! The Yoda-Dooku battle was OK, but I'd rather watch CTHD over than try to get the good bits out of this movie. And who came up with the name Dooku. anyway? It's just begging to be parodied into Dookie. Too many obligatory video game scenes -- the factory, the asteroid belt, the first chase scene, just to name a few. Ultimately, I'm glad someone else bought my ticket.
