So my office moved this weekend. We're above ground now, and the commute seemed a bit shorter, so overall, a win. One slight problem, though: the floor in my new cube is not even. I can tell already that sitting on a slant all day is going to kill my back. Thus, I'm looking for a chair that has some sort of gimbal or gyro or something so that the seat stays level over ground that isn't. If the level app on my coworker's G1 is accurate, it's not a huge angle, only about 2 degrees, but I can feel it, and if I place a ball on the floor, it rolls. My google-fu isn't turning up anything, but maybe you'll think of better keywords or other ideas?

Try calling a chiropractor's office and asking for advice?

What came to mind was a "ball" -- but I feel that isn't a good option for you.

I'd be willing to try the kind with a base and a backrest, but not willing to ask my employer to buy one unless I'd tried it first. I think the lack of on-the-fly height adjustability and armrests would also make it unworkable unless I had some sort of non-desk-based mouse and keyboard. I'm a weird fit ergonomically, and have to adjust the best I can. The one place I worked with actual ergonomic consultants on staff, they ended up cutting up furniture to fit me. (My KB and mouse should be nearly in my lap, but my monitor then has to be raised up a fair bit. I end up adjusting chair height and using a footrest, mostly.)
