Canadian historical fiction graphic novel, frontier / fur trading era. Interpersonal conflict against a background of English / French / Cree conflict. Enjoyed it; will look for the next volume.
6) How To Survive a Natural Disaster, Margaret Hawkins
Received as part of the LibraryThing Early Reviewers program, but it took me a little while to get to it. A fairly quick read, really. The story of the tensions in a dysfunctional family building to a dramatic breaking point, and what happens next. It's told from many viewpoints -- the mother, the father, the daughter from the mother's first marriage, the adopted daughter, the neighbor, even the dog. You know from the start that a Very Bad thing will happen; this book is about characters, not plot.
