Another Westercon note:
How could I have forgotten to mention the yummy Australian cookies at the Coober-Pedy mock-bid party? My first Tim Tam, mini black-and-whites, and a really scrumptious chocolate and caramel one. I think the box for those said 'Outrageous Cookies".

I skipped the memorial last night...I really needed some downtime at home, and when I went online, I found [livejournal.com profile] delayra, who is an old friend I hadn't talked to in ages. We caught up a bit and exchanged LJ identities.

Tonight was the first Darkstar Women's Craft Night. I took my knitting stuff, but didn't get lessons, and a UFO[1] someone gave me a couple of months ago, which I did work on. It's little girl's socks; you put a crochet and bead edge on storebought socks. Pretty simple, really -- I did three tonight, which with the one that was completed when they gave it to me, makes two pairs. The first one I did as a mate to the completer one -- pink and white variegated cotton (bedspread weight) with clear beads; I used white cotton and purple beads for the second sock, then realized there weren't enough purple beads for a pair of those, so I made one with bright pink beads, since pink and purple seems to be a common combination in little girl's clothes. Other people's crafts included cross stitch, knitting, embroidery, and painting miniatures.

Ages? Yeah, I'd say that was a good description.

At least we've never really . . . "lost" each other, neh?

Yeah, we just...moved to opposite sides of the internet and occasionally met up when we were both visiting the old neighborhood, or something like that.
