I've mentioned exercise hives (cholinergic urticaria) a couple of times recently. I've been having trouble with it for a couple of months now. I took some pictures today after my 30 minute workout (Curves, aerobic/strength) so I can show them to the allergist Friday. (if I can get them printed...) I thought I'd post the link here, too, in case any one is curious. This was a mild to medium reaction. The image names are yyyymmddhhmm_partN; you can see how it changed over time. Some pics are over or under flashed.

interesting. i didn't know that existed -- i shall be more careful in the future with jokingly claiming that i am allergic to exercise.

does it hurt?

Mostly it itches. When it's bad (I've had worse outbreaks than the one pictured), it's the sort of itch that's bordering on pain.

i think in the past i got that, i thought it was from grass though, and it may very well have been from grass, maybe from both things, when i had mono in the very beginning stages i broke out in sever hives a number of times, including comeing extremly close to blacking out several times
i am glad to know that this actually exists and what i thought was causing it actually may have been causing it, the dr i saw about allergies was not very helpfull at all at the time, and no one knew i had mono yet, itw as terafying

If the doc I'm seeing Friday isn't helpful, I'm going to see if my great-uncle can recommend someone. (He's the retired dean of dermatology from UAMS, and wrote one of the articles I found when I first started researching this.)
