Nov. 12th, 2004 03:57 pmI will not rearchitect large chunks of the product while the chief architect is on vacation, now matter how much nicer it would make the codebase. I won't, no matter how much I want to build this now that I've seen how it should be. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent.
(Note that this is not a matter of resisting the temptation to go behind his back; he's a great guy and a pleasure to work with. I want to discuss this with him. But he's not here, and I'm kinda rarin' to go, so I'm trying to refocus myself on something else for the next week or so until he gets back.)

Date: 2004-11-12 05:04 pm (UTC)I've also found the fix for long standing issue, on Friday, at 8pm. 1 little character was wrong. I restrained myself and let other look at it and confirm my fix on Monday.
Write it up, even code it, but don't implement it. Then let Sr person know you had a idea while he was gone.
