Drove up to Gallifrey Friday. Con went well, though it seemed quieter than the past few years. And then, Monday morning, I got in the truck to leave. Started the engine, released the brake, put it in reverse, hit the gas...and it didn't move.

The hotel manager made some calls, I got towed to a transmission shop, I probably got ripped off, and I had to ask my parents for money...again. And then when I first started to leave, I got a few miles away, and the overdrive light started to flash, so I had to turn around and go back. Instead of leaving Van Nuys by noon on Monday, like I'd planned, I left around 6:00PM Tuesday.

In other news, there's another lawyer my grandfather wants me to talk to, so that saga continues, as well.

Ar least I'm home, and in one piece.

Anyone got a winning lottery ticket to share?

Worst part is, I don't think the thing they "fixed" was the real problem. I'll be having a chat with my mechanics here to see what they say about it (and get what I think is the real problem looked it -- I think the parking brake, which I habitually set, having grown up in the mountains, is sticking; I can work around that by not setting it until I get it checked out.)
