Mainly for locals

Shwoomp!: lovely bath stuff, all made on site. Lots and lots and lots of scents, and colors and...Soaps, scrubs, bath bombs, etc.
Betty's Bookstore
3533 Adams Ave
(619) 283-6222
Not the biggest used bookstore in town, or the widest selection, but she has quite a bit of SF including rather a lot of new/newer books -- new HB ~$10 off cover, new trades ~$5 off. (10 and 5 is what the sign says, but she mentioned she'd been doing it a bit differently lately, so your cost may be less than you'd expect.) Support a local store and get a new book cheap -- what could be better? (I know one of the downtown used book stores, maybe Wahrenbrocks, also has cheap newer books, but I'm on Adams far more often than I"m downtown, and the parking's better, too.) Open til 8PM M-Sat, and 6PM Sunday, IIRC. Doesn't take plastic; I didn't ask about checks.
