It's not a direct link. Merely the issues being pointed out are all things that wouldn't be a problem under libertarianism.

I'm not sure how a change in governmental approach would correct religious misfocus, which was the main point of the article.

It wouldn't necesarily other than possibly help remove the focus of the religious from controlling politics directly, but a change in governmental approach would reduce the impact of the religious misfocus.
