Last night at the boardgamers meetup, one conversation led to another, and suddenly, we realized Mary Poppins was a Time Lord. After some discussion, we agreed that her carpetbag was her Tardis, and Bert the sidewallk artist was probably her companion.

It explains so much.

And let's not forget Snoopy and Woodstock. The WWI flying ace has been there, in his doghouse!

Sorry, posted without being logged in, so I reposted. Seems I can't delete the anonymous one.

The "Mary Poppins is a Time Lord" theory occurred to me years ago. It must be true!

I think it's probably a sign of serious childhood disturbances that I understood and agree with all that...but have never seen Mary Poppins. Time Lords and Tardises yay, Disney Movies not so much apparently...

Eh, the movie is entirely missable. The books, however, are well worth reading.

That is my very favorite Disney movie. Please to not be sullying it with nonsense about Time Lords and Tardises. :)

Does it help if I mention that I, at least, and I believe at leasty one other person, were thinking more of the books than the movie? (The books are much better, IMNSHO, although lacking the admittedly-catchy music.)

And I believe she has a kickass scarf, which is, of course, one of the Time Lord requirements. And if not the scarf, then the hat and umbrella get her in.

I'm puzzled. Other than the bag that is bigger on the inside than the outside (molecular transcendentalism), a penchant for meddling (name one time lord who lives by the code they profess)and old style Brittish accoutrements, what attributes has she that would make her a time lord?

Would not Glenda the Good fit the bill with a pink tiara?

Hmmm. Having thought it over for a good seven seconds, I must agree!
