KDE/Redhat/?? bizzarreness

I'm one of those people who, rather than logging out overnight, locks the screen and turns off the monitor.
And every morning, I'm finding that all my windows on desktop 1 are gone. What's up with that? Desktops 2 and 3 keep their windows just fine. (I haven't been using 4). Konsole and Konqueror are both affected. Actually, I take that back -- I think any terminal not connected to another system is dying; I'm pretty sure I had three term windows on desktop 2 when I left and there's only two now. And it may just be Konsole; I thought I had a Konqueror window on desktop 1, but I might be misremebering.

So I went to yoga last night, since I'll be in LA Saturday when I usually go. The usual instructor, J, is out of tow, and K was substituting. K is a much less experienced instructor than J. This was only the second time I'd been to a class where she was the main instructor, and it will likely be the last. She doesn't do nearly as much adjustment and assisting as the other, more experienced instructors, and as a result, when I woke up this morning, I only had half my usual range of motion when turning my head to the left. Some time with a heat pack has help; I still have some pain but I have most of the range back now. And next time K's subbing, unless one of the good instructors is assisting, I'm finding another class.

There's a conversation fen know. It goes something like this:
Mundane: "What're you doing this weekend?"
Fan: "Going to a convention"
M: "Oh? What sort of convention?"
F: "Science fiction"
M: "Oh."
And there it dies.

Today, with a coworker:
Coworker: "Got plans for the weekend?"
Me: "I'm going to a convention in LA."
C: "Oh, Westercon? I'm planning to go up for Saturday."

He proceeded to ask me if I was going to the memorial for Bruce on Thursday.
*blink* Look, a fan, right there in my office!
