Home from Baycon; took 101, and made the drive in a bit under 9 hours, including a food stop, 2 gas stops, and another biobreak. Not too shabby. Had a great time a the con; continued to live by the old Girl Scout song: "Make new friends / but keep the old / One is silver / and the other's gold".

Indeed, a wonderful rule to live by. One of the few positives I took away from my six hellish years in Girl Scouts, I'd say.

I'm sorry your experience with Scouting was bad. Troops vary a LOT. Me, I was a Scout for 10 ears, and would've gone 12 if I hadn't gone the NCSSM. Mine were perfect troops, but socially, Scouts was way better than school, and we learned some interesting and useful things.
