Aug. 4th, 2002 09:32 am<user>@mac.com has decided to harass me via email. 75 messages so far. Email to postmaster@mac.com and abuse@mac.com has gone unacknowledged. <user> is SoCal fandom's best-known psycho. Suggestions for further steps?

Date: 2002-08-04 11:15 am (UTC)my own experience with kooks has been that ignoring them, even when harassed, works best for me. i can delete email or gate it straight to /dev/null, but while i am all for hunting down spammers and getting their accounts revoked, kooks are a different story. one might get such a person really going ballistic if such actions succeed -- and accounts are a dime a dozen, really, so zie'll be back.
kooks are also a different story because, well, they are sick, you know? unless my actions can get them treatment, or reliably protect me, what's the point?
-piranha (sorry to hear you're having such troubles, that really sucks)

Re: dealing with kooks
Date: 2002-08-04 05:01 pm (UTC)I'm generally able to avoid zir in meatspace; zie has moved from my immediate local area to the next county north, so I only see zir at the occasional con.
Re: Procmail
Date: 2002-08-04 05:05 pm (UTC)Looks like procmail's already installed, actually. Have to spend some time looking at the man page when I don't have a temp ~100, because there's no way I can comprehend it right now.
