So there was a costume contest at work today. It was fairly amusing; people pushed the boundaries of what I consider good taste and work-appropriate more than I'd expect (Crampy the PMS Dwarf?!?). I had agreed to play victim for the Software Configuration Monster,and we won Scariest! Woo! (Yes, there was a prize. It was neither extravagant nor trivial. No, I'm not going to post how much it was.) Someone not in the contest was dressed as #6 from The Prisoner, which was cool.
I left work around 5, earlier than I'd planned but with my boss's blessing, as this evening's traffic map was the scariest thing I saw all day -- lots of red. It took me an hour to go the first 5 miles, but was somewhat better from there on. Got to the park in plenty of time for the movie, which would have been a bit more enjoyable if alarms hadn't gone off in nearby buildings several times, but was still a wonderful thing. Just wish I had had someone there to share it with.

because whatever road i need to go up or down is ALWAYS RED.

i don't get san diego traffic. i can avoid it oh-so-well, or so i think, and then BAM my shortcut clogs up....in full view of the moving 805.

hrm. at least the traffic moves there. let's not talk about NJ rush hours. :)

I usually don't but I'm glad my coworker did today, because I'd've probably been late to the movie and highly cranky if he hadn't. The 5 miles that too an hour were 45 minues down Genessee from Campus Point to Nobel, then 15 minutes to cut over on Nobel and get on 805. Then it only took another 20 minutes or so to get down to Balboa Park. Genessee is eeee-vil at commute-time.

If it makes you feel any better, traffic up the fifteen was horrendous last night (I went to pass out candy with the dad and di show). Di and I were in the carpool lane and it wasn't going much faster than the freeway crawl. At 4 in the afternoon! Bah. Crazy California drivers.

Crampy was part of a larger group skit involving Pimp Charming, Ho White, and a bunch of Disney reject dwarves -- a Bag Lady Dwarf (Baggie?), Funky the 70s Dwarf, Thrifty the Scottish Dwarf, Boozy the Drunken Dwarf, Tacky(?) the Ugly Clothes Dwarf and maybe another one or two I'm forgetting. There was also a somewhat twisted beauty pageant group. And then there was the emcee for the competition, in Moulin Rouge-esque drag. (red satin. lingerie. marabou. marabou lingerie.) Not quite what I expected at work.
