I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal, if you feel like it.

I am a costume nut. I dress in costume for the fun of it and look for events as excuses to wear a costume. For halloween, it has to be a different costume for each event. It was a slow year this year, there were only 4 costumes (admittedly, this is stretching the definition and the biggest year was only 6 different costumes). I work LosCon where we can't wear a costume while working. So I get around this by wearing formal wear.

I like dressing up, but am handicapped by not sewing. It's fun to assemble costumes from found items, though -- most of my piratey costume came from Ross or my closet, for instance.

I use to be a closet costumer in that all of my costumes came out of my normal closet until the last couple of years. Friends got me sewing a little and actually I make more real clothing than costumes. This page on my website has more of the closet costumes, this page has the mix of sewing and closet, if you are interested. At one time, I figured I had the materials for at least seven different pirate costumes in my closet. And you gotta love Ross.

I'm trying to keep the closet under control -- I don't have room for more clothes! I can easily pull 4 or 5 costumes out of the closet, though; more if I thought about it. Not counting anything involving the corset, as it doesn't live in the closet. :)
