I have. But they're supposed to not take it out on the customers. If they're having a bad day and taking intolerable crap from the customers, they're supposed to talk to their super and get permission to leave shift. I imagine it's a case of she had to take way more than's humanly tolerable from other rude, arrogant and obnoxious customers that day but she can't afford to lose the pay, but that is Not Her Customers' Problem.
I understand having a bad day. But yeah, she's an adult -- I heard her say she has a ten year old, so I'm guessing 26 at a minimum, likely a few years older than that -- and there is no excuse for treating a child the way she did.
(BTW, do you have a clone, or were you at Rudford's last night?)
Okay, so she's a parent and she was abusing someone else's kid? *blinks* That is so far beyond the realms of understandability. I have no words. Except, I'm pretty sure I feel sorry for her kid, if she thinks that's an acceptable way to treat a child.
Hmm. Now I wonder if it might indeed be useful to involve Child Protective Services... if she's assaulting a stranger's child, then what must she be doing to her own? *shudder*
I totally snapped *bad* on a customer once. But, the owner backed me, 86d the couple (older couple with major 'tude and entitlement issues), and I continuedtomake origami cranes for kids in the restaurant (the issue the couple had with me.)
It's one thing if you are given a reason, but waiting for an order isn't a reason. Nor is anything a kid does.
*nod* He wasn't even being especially slow; just very specific about what he did and didn't want on his food, and she was making him repeat everything several times.
That's ridiculous. If you're on the point of snapping, I can get walking off shift, even. Or "I'll be back when you've decided." Rude, short behavior, okay. Not good, but it happens. Shaking and yelling at someone's child?? Excuse me? Augh.
I'm sorry to hear that this happend to the four of you, and I hope that David recieves an appology from them. As it is, I will also not be eating there, and will let others know.
The Pokez website listed above has a link on the front page (where it says "Click Here for Directions") that goes to the Yahoo page for info on the restaurant. And that has a link that says "Been there? Write a review"... Hmmm.
Maybe all of us who will be in SD for Comic-Con in July can, at various times, show up at the restaurant, say "Oh wait, this is the place that abused that autistic kid. Never mind, we'll go somewhere else" and leave. If they're still in business by that time, of course.
sorry to hear about this incident! quite distressing actually. i haven't experienced or witnessed anything like that at pokez before.... although they're notorious for their "service."
Only if you have a very odd definition of fit; he was simply placing his order, which the waitress made him repeat several times.
If you've paid attention, no one actually involved has attacked any Pokez emplyee for any lifestyle element besides the way we were treated. I am not responsible for the overractions of others.
If I hadn't been to Pokez in the past and liked it, I certainly wouldn't have suggested it. Why should I take my out-of-town friends to some cookie-cutter chain, when I could let them have a taste of something unique to San Diego?

Protest
Date: 2007-03-02 12:09 am (UTC)I would run a rally group and picket line the whole restaurant. Call and ask for fax and ring the whole phone line off the hook.
Hang up signs and you will run a successful protest.
