Jun. 1st, 2007 12:23 amI am several chapters into the second book of the Gormenghast trilogy.
Please give me one or more reasons to keep slogging.
The prose may be lush, but so is an impassable jungle, and I find myself longing for a machete. Will diligence be rewarded in the end, or would I be hooked by now if it were my cup of tea?

Date: 2007-06-01 07:59 am (UTC)The BBC was live action, right? Based on the first book and what I've read of the second, I can't see any way to do this justice except as animation, or the sort of CG/live blend used in the LotR movies.
